Preliminary Study of the Effects of Water Vapor Pressure on Thermograms of Kaolinitic Soils

Abstract: Kaolinites found in soils generally give poorer thermograms than commercial kaolins. When run under dynamic steam atmospheres up to 90 psi, the endothermic peaks are sharpened and moved upward; the exotherm is made less intense and moved downward. Because of the effects observed, the method promises to be of interest in theoretical studies of hydrates and hydroxides.
