MESSAGE TO STUDENTS

Through The Clay Minerals Society (CMS) conferences and publications, CMS offers students the best means of following the many-sided growth of the clay sciences and of meeting fellow scientists and technologists with widely different backgrounds and interests.

Professor Joe Stucki, CMS’s Editor-in-Chief, summarizes the benefits of student membership in the Clay Minerals Society in these brief comments:

“One of the most important element in the advancement of one’s career in clay science is to belong to a strong network of scientists with common interests. Participants both teach and learn from one another. The CMS is an excellent such network. The Clay Minerals Society for me has fulfilled these purposes in a most satisfying manner because it: (1) publishes a great journal for disseminating scientific ideas and findings, (2) sponsors intellectually stimulating conferences that are large enough but not too large, and (3) is composed of many individuals who are not only well versed in the science, but are so willing to share their time and talents with others.”
